Dr. Trupti Mehta is the part of the team for the last 20 years.
Area of expertise: Genital TB, PCOS, Endometriosis, Endoscopy including operative laparoscopy and hysteroscopy for infertility related disorders. She has an in-depth expertise in various aspects of infertility treatment and has been invited as faculty in various conferences.
Her clinical skills have contributed to many smiles for couples on the path to parenthood and she says that her greatest reward is to see the happiness infertile couples experience after successful treatment.
In her spare time, she enjoys reading academic journals, novels, travelling to different places, meeting new people and has a passion for music. She is also an accomplished singer.
Dr. Sujatha Sawkar, MD
Dr. Sujatha Sawkar is the part of the team for the last 18 years.
In addition to her educational qualification, she has trained in ‘ Tubal Recanalization’ and Ultrasonography from The Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Chennai.
Dr. Sawkar is in-charge of the surrogacy program at Jaslok-FertilTree International Fertility Centre. Her areas of interest include Reproductive Endocrinology and Implantation Failure.
She is a Maths Wizard and Is a very avid reader of Non-Fiction.
Dr. Sangeeta Deshmukh, MD
Dr. Sangeeta Deshmukh is the part of the team for the last 16 years.
She heads the Donor Egg programme at the Centre and has Several scientific publications and Book chapters to her credit. Her interests include evaluation of women with Repeated Implantation Failure.
Her hobbies include playing Chess and reading. She has won several awards and scholarships in Maths and Academics at the interschool, state and national level. A gentle, caring and compassionate person she is always eager to help patients.
Dr. Sapna Agarwal , MD
Dr. Sapna Agarwal is the part of the team for the last 15 years.
Apart from Infertility Management and IVF, she also practices High-Risk Obstetrics. All pregnant patients following IVF are closely monitored by her. She has to her credit picked up many problems associated with pregnant IVF patients.
Her expertise extends to evaluation and treatment of patients with Repeated miscarriages.
Her hobbies include reading, travelling and cooking. She practices yoga and meditation to keep fit.
Dr. Madhavi Panpalia, MS
Dr. Madhavi Panpalia is a part of the team for the last 15 years.
She has specialized training in Laparoscopic Sterilization conducted by Family Planning Association of India, Mumbai.
She keeps herself abreast with the latest treatment options. She has presented a number of Papers and Lectures as a delegate and faculty member at National and International conferences and also has won many awards for best paper presentation. She has presented Scientific Papers at National and International level and written many chapters. She was awarded the First prize as Best Speaker in the joint conference of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) and South Asia Federation of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (SAFOG) held in Kolkata, 2007 and as best speaker in Male Infertility category in the 24th Annual Congress of ISAR held in Mumbai, India 2019.
Her areas of interest are reproductive endocrinology, recurrent implantation failure, ovulatory dysfunction, male infertility, PCOS, recurrent pregnancy loss, preimplantation genetic testing and genital tuberculosis.
Social work is very important to her and she visits Royal Infertility Clinic, Srinagar every month to help infertile couples in the Kashmir Valley. She is a kind hearted doctor who is a great listener, skilled, knowledgeable, empathetic to the concern of her patients, dedicated, thoughtful and helping. She is a versatile person with keen interest in Calligraphy, Painting, Reading, Elocution and Music. She has brought smiles to the face of many infertile couples.
Dr. Mamta Pardeshi Katakdhond, BSc, DNB
Dr. Mamta Pardeshi Katakdhond is a part of the team for the last 13 years.
She has received training in Clinical Embryology and IVF Laboratory procedures from Life in Vitro Academy, United Kingdom.
She has been awarded “Angel of Healthcare Award ” by Medlife Asia Healthcare .She also won a prize in Bombay Leprosy Project Wall Journal Quiz.
She has presented papers at National and International Conferences and also has been awarded a prize for the Best Paper Presentation at National Conference on Pregnancy and Labour. She is a member of many scientific bodies including MOGS, FOGSI, IFS, ISAR.
Her area of expertise is in repeated miscarriages, male factor infertility and previous failed IVF cycles. Dr Mamta works closely in the surrogacy field and has many success stories. Her academic passion make her participate in many academic activities.
She is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer and is currently learning Odissi dance. She has participated in many cultural activities and fashion shows. She is proficient in Hindi, English Marathi, Gujrati and French. She is an avid traveler and loves to explore new places.

Jyotshna Palgamkar D.G.O, D.N.B, MNAMS is the part of the team for the last 5 years.
She is currently a Consultant at Jaslok-FertilTree International Fertility Centre since the last 1 year. She works as a cohesive member and interacts closely with other medical professionals to promote optimal patient care in ART. Well versed with all the obstetrics procedures, she can handle all the obstetric complications.
She is adept at performing various major & minor gynecologic, obstetric, infertility related procedures like operative and diagnostic laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, oocytes retrieval, embryo transfer, ERA, uterine instillation of Platelet Rich Plasma, Hysterosalpingography, Sonohysterosalphingograhy.
She has a keen interest in fetal medicine procedures like Chorionic villus biopsy, Amniocentesis and fetal interventional procedures.
Dr. Anahita Pandole, MD
Dr. Anahita Pandole is the part of the team for 20 years.
Practicing at the ART department at Jaslok Hospital Research Centre since 18 years and specialises in management of high risk pregnancies.
She is passionate about the environment and associated with Jai Vakeel foundation- a school for children with special needs.
Her fertility practice also includes helping indigenous couples. She is the part of the Jio Parsi program to help infertile couples.
Dr. Prochi Madon, PhD
Dr. Prochi Madon is the part of the team for 23 years.
After M.Sc. in Botany with specialization in cytology and genetics, she trained in human cytogenetics, the study of chromosomes at BJ Medical College, Pune (1973). She set up a Genetic clinic at Grant Medical College and Sir JJ Group of Hospitals, Mumbai (1974) where she obtained Ph.D. She relocated to Baroda with her husband and set up another genetic laboratory at SSG Hospital in 1979. On returning to Mumbai, she was a Research Officer at the Institute for Research in Reproduction (1982). During the long break in her career for family reasons, she worked as a music teacher in her children’s schools. She joined the Genetic Research Centre (ICMR), at Wadia Hospital, Mumbai and later worked in a private genetic laboratory.
At Jaslok Hospital, besides karyotyping on various tissues, she introduced the FISH technique as a rapid diagnostic test in India in 2001 for disorders ranging from infertility to cancer after a short training in USA..
She was one of two representatives from Asia on the International System for Human Cytogenetic Nomenclature (ISCN) standing committee from 2007-2011.
Dr. Madon is invited as faculty at many national conferences and has presented papers at international ones.
The first live-births in India after PGD by FISH for translocations and inversions were reported by the team from the Department of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics.
She was presented the Prof. I. C. Verma Lifetime Achievement award (2020), the Young Scientist award (1980) and the LTMT Senior Research Scholarship (1974-77).
She plays the Piano and enjoys spending time with her grand-daughter.
Dr. Arundhati Athalye, PhD
Dr. Arundhati Athalye is the part of the team for 23 years.
She is working as Head, Genetics Lab and Molecular Cytogeneticist with more than 23 years of experience. She is responsible for >14 completed and ongoing projects as co-investigator, Her work involves diagnostics as well as research involving Assisted Reproductive Techniques and cytogenetics as well as Molecular Techniques. She is also working as a genetic counselor for preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) and other Genetic Disorders. She has to her credit more than 30 articles in national and international journals, more than 75 abstracts for various oral presentations and posters, 8 book chapters as first author and co-author. An expert in Pre Implantation Genetic Testing (PGT), she is regularly invited to give talks on Genetics and PGT at conferences and training courses.
She has helped to set up the diagnostic testing of autoinflammatory diseases and periodic fever syndromes first time in India with the help of Dr. Ivona Askentizavitch from USA.
She has been awarded several prizes for posters presented in different conferences. She is the recipient of the Amar Gandhi Foundation Award for being an “Outstanding Researcher” for the year 2007 at JHRC. She was awarded a certificate by ICMR for her contribution to the 'Phase II trial of Use of Convalescent Plasma during the COVID-19 pandemic' in August 2020. She is also recipient of “Jaslok Achiever” in 2021. Her team was awarded “Excellence in NABH audit” by JHRC in June 2019. She was part of the team in which the Department of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics was ranked First in India, Western Zone and Mumbai as Best IVF Centre in the Times of India Surveys for 5 consecutive years 2016-2017, 2017-2018, 2018-2019, 2019-2020 and first in Mumbai and Western Zone, second in India in 2020-2021. The Department also received the ET Healthcare Fertility Awards for IVF Icon, Best IVF Centre (National), Most Integrated IVF Team (National) in October 2019.
Dr. Sona Nair, PhD
Dr. Sona Nair is part of the team for last 9 years.
She had started her career as a Research Officer at National Institute of Immunohematology (NIIH) (ICMR), Parel, Mumbai (1996-2013) where she has worked under the Human Genome programme for the molecular characterization of hematological disorders and also persued her M.Sc and Ph.D. (2005). She has a work experience of 24 years (14 years of Post-doctoral experience) in research field in numerous projects entailing blood disorders like thalassemia, sickle cell anemia, hemophila and von Willebrand disease, platelet function related disorders, thrombotic disorders, human platelet alloantigens, platelet activation in myocardial infarction, auto inflammatory disorders also including the Jai Vigyan Phase- II project for the establishment of antenatal screening and prenatal diagnosis at regional centres for the diagnosis of thalassemia and sickle cell anemia.
Her major achievements include detecting novel mutations in the autoinflammatory disorders and the platelet disorders which has been registered in the GenBank database, Infevers mutation database and the Glanzmann Thrombasthenia database respectively.
She was the recipient of the Sanofi Doctoral Fellowship (France) to work as a visiting research assistant at Mt. Sinai Hospital, New York (1997-1998) on the rare inherited platelet disorders in India. She had received the Lady Tata Fellowship (1998-1999) and Senior Research Fellowship (ICMR.) (2001-2004) for the study on platelet and complement system. She has received the Jaslok Achiever award for March 2019 in recognition of outstanding excellence, superior performance and accomplishment for exceptional job performance.
She has received the Women researcher award in 1st international scientist awards on Engineering, Science and Medicine held in July 2019, Bangalore. She has received Dr. J. C. Patel award for detecting a novel mutation in an Indian Glanzmanns Thrombasthenia patient at the 40th Annual Conference of Bombay hematology Group.
She has several publications in international, national journals and book chapters to her credit and has presented posters and conducted workshops and meeting.
She is a Life Member of Mumbai Hematology Group (MHG), Indian Society of Human Genetics (ISHG), Indian Society of Hematology and Blood Transfusion (ISHBT).
She likes spending time with family, reading, travelling, cooking, gardening, and watching fictions and dramas.
